ABSENTEE BIDDING means you are not personally at the auction, and make arrangements PRIOR to the auction to have assistance in bidding. You may choose from the following options: TELEPHONE BID- prior to the auction we will discuss any questions you may have or conditions reports, then during the auction we will call you, and you will remain on the telephone, bidding along live with the crowd. This option works best when you are undecided how high to go, but all phone bidders must give an opening bid. LEFT BID- prior to the auction, you leave a bid with the dollar amount you are willing to pay up to, for a particular item. For example you may leave a bid of $100, the auctioneer will start the bidding with the crowd, say at $10 and continue the volley with 20, 30, 40, 50 dollars, if the crowd stops there, you would be the successful bidder at $60 because you were willing to go up to 100. PROXY BID- someone in the crowd of your choosing is your eyes and ears at the auction. All arrangements to bid are made between you and them. That person may pay for and deliver your buttons, or payment and shipping arrangements may be made with us. INTERNET BID- we are happy to accept any bidding arrangements by email, but please note these bids are prior to the auction, as there is no interactive computer bidding option available. The extended dates on the website are for internal use only, the auction is held live during the "real" two days of the auction. MAIL IN BID-though most of you reading this page are computer enabled, there are many folks who prefer to simply mail in bids, so the printed catalog's back page is an absentee bid sheet which may be filled out and mailed in. For those of you online, this is not necessary, simply email me at info@pagebuttonauctions.com any questions or requests you may have. BUY IT BID-we are quite honored that our reputation allows many folks to have such confidence in bidding that they leave a buy it bid- this means we will keep bidding on their behalf until the crowd stops and they are the successful buyer. This option should be used only by those quite familiar with auctions and who have established themselves with MBA Page Buttons. For a new Absentee Bidder, it is best to keep it simple. We are happy you are willing to participate, perhaps try your luck on a couple of lots....you may be happily surprised! If you didn't get anything the first time, at least you will have become familiar with the process, making you better prepared next time. If there is a photo you would like to request or a question you have, please let us know. We like to make you comfortable with the process. After the auction we will be in touch if you did buy something, if you don't hear from us please feel free to call and find out how much it went for. That information will help you bid next time. Also keep in mind: there is a buyer's premium added to each purchase that all bidders pay; If we are shipping out of State, there is no sales tax; shipping/handling charges do apply. We generally ship US Priority Mail unless otherwise requested. Payment may be made by Check payable in US Funds to MBA, Visa or Mastercard. All BIDS must be to our office by the Thursday PRIOR to the auction at 3pm EST. At the auction, bids are handled in a competitive manner in an attempt to buy the object for less than your top bid. As our auctions are well attended you will be competing against the audience, phone bidders and absentee bidders. You will pay one bid above the next highest bid, but no more than your maximum. If two absentee bids are received with the exact same amount, the first bid received will take precedence. Absentee bids have an equal chance of being successful as do telephone or in person bids, yet do not take precedence over any bidding method. All items are sold AS, WHERE IS without guarantees. It is your responsibility to inspect all items prior to bidding. We will do our absolute best to describe the item to you prior to the auction. MBA Page Buttons offers this service as a convenience to those who are unable to attend the auction and will not be held responsible for error or failure to execute bids. We certainly appreciate your business and your efforts to participate in the auction! Thank You! |
